Role Purpose

Contract:
40 hours per week and 8-10 sleep-ins per month. Cover various shifts, including early mornings, late shifts, long days (12-15 hours), sleep-ins, weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
About you:
Minimum 1 year of UK Support Work experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Full UK manual driving licence.
Able to work full-time hours and do 8-10 sleep-ins.
Must have a valid Right To Work and NOT require visa sponsorship.

Main Responsibilities:

The overall purpose of the role is to provide high-quality care and support to young people who are looked after away from their familial home. Those we care for include children and young people who have experienced familial / foster/placement disruption, emotional/behavioural difficulties, or other significant disruptions to their lives.
Main Duties:
Safeguarding through individual risk management planning for young people. Promoting positive social engagements/interaction, healthy relationships and building trust in a safe and measured way, applying safeguarding principles throughout.
Providing high levels of nurturing care underpinned by therapeutic parenting principles.
Supporting children and young people throughout their daily routines by accompanying, where necessary, and transporting to and from activities, school or learning environment, appointments, including family contact and providing supervision when required.
Participating in activities with children and young people, encouraging engagement in education and positive and appropriate hobbies and interests. Preparing and supporting young people with tuition and homework.
Maintaining a safe and clean home environment, including completing all domestic duties, e.g. cleaning, cooking, washing and general housekeeping.
Lone working and as part of a wider professional team.
Maintain confidentiality at all times, and report any information or concern to your line manager in a timely manner.
Participating in supervision and personal development plans, attending all mandatory and relevant training, and completing a level 4 diploma relevant to the children and young people’s workforce. All within the given time constraints
Ensure all daily/weekly reporting and recording aspects are completed within the given time limits and per company policies and procedures.
Ensure you comply with all Codes of Practice set by the employer and respective regulatory bodies, i.e. Ofsted, and remain current with all company policies and procedures, relevant legislation, required codes of practice and young person’s paperwork, including care plans, risk assessments, etc.
Carry out additional reasonable tasks relating to running the home and young people, set by the Line Manager.

well-being and safeguarding of our young people. The Homes Manager will also be responsible for developing and supervising their team(s) and will encourage professional progression where applicable.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure all Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted guidelines are carried out and adhered to, and ensure Quality Standards are always met.
Ensure all aspects of care are planned and associated requirements are set out in the Statement of Purpose and are achieved and reviewed regularly, ensuring they remain current and up to date.
Ensure all Reg 44 visits are facilitated, and any actions / identified requirements are carried out promptly.
Ensure Reg 45 is completed and submitted to Ofsted on a six-month basis.
Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met.
Ensure all required documentation regarding a young person’s care is kept up to date and shared with the team and all other interested parties as required.
Take responsibility for progressing complaints or safeguarding concerns and reporting them to the relevant bodies, i.e., LADO, OFSTED, social workers, etc.
Complete the administration of daily/monthly staffing rota’s, financial, payroll, supervision/training and all staffing-related matters in accordance with company deadlines
In association with the HR/recruitment team, manage the recruitment and retention of staff, liaising with HR regarding any concerns around practice or fulfilment of contractual obligations by the team.
Ensure the home remains financially viable by ensuring it remains fully occupied and carefully match new admissions, paying particular attention to the needs of the young person(s) already in situ.
Directly deliver Supervision and carry out personal development plans (PDPS) for your team, encouraging professional development and progression where appropriate, and ensure all staff are fully conversant with the company policies and procedures and receive appropriate training to fulfil their role.
On-Call responsibilities as required
Ensure all our young people live in a nurturing environment, safeguarded from harm and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Ensure all our young people’s voices are heard and all aspects of their care are communicated with them at an appropriate level.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
Must complete and be successful in the registration process with Ofsted.

Assist the operations manager in improving children’s outcomes and objectives as set out in the development plan.
To develop, implement and monitor the competency framework support for the Deputy Homes. Manager roles.
To Chair and coordinate the Deputies Forum once a month and provide evidence of how regular and good quality support is provided to the Deputy Managers group.
To review the company-wide rota system and support improvements.
